(Macao - 2022)“Treasure of the Tang Dynasty: A Glimpse at Art and Culture” is curated by Cultura e Artes Performativas Cardeal Newman de Macau (CCCN Macau) of Associação Diocesana das Artes Performativas e Culturais de Macau (ADAPEC) in conjunction with Macau Collector Association. The opening ceremony was hoisted on 5th March, 2022. Officiating Guest were Mr. Cheong Chi Kin, Vice President of ADAPEC, Mr. Leong Kam Chun, Chairman of ADAPEC, Ms. Wong Kai Yiu, Director of CCCN Macau, Mr. Ng Lee Fan, President of Macau Collector Association and management, Ms. Vong Vai Leng, Vice Principal of Colégio Diocesano de São José 6 (CDSJ VI).
The Exhibition features more than 30 exhibits from Tang Dynasty heyday. With the theme of economic, cultural and artistic prosperity bringing together the far-reaching impact of Traditional Chinese Arts and Crafts in future generations, and the cultural development of East Asian countries. Through “Treasure of the Tang Dynasty”, CCCN would like to let students and the public to walk through history by appreciating cultural relics and broader their appreciation of ancient artifacts and culture of the Tang Dynasty. This can enhance deeper and wider understanding about Chinese civilization and culture.
Mr. Leong Kam Chun, Chairman of ADAPEC, stated in the opening remarks that CCCN aims at promotion of Chinese and Western culture and thank you very much for sincere support of all aspects. Just like Ms. Vong Vai Leng, Vice-Principal of CDSJ VI, provided valuable Historical reference, Mr. Ng and his fellow Collectors to lend out their precious collection. Furthermore, the Macao Collectors Association has been established for 19 years. They wish to let the public to have a deeper understanding about culture of the Tang Dynasty, and share the works they have been going through for the past years.
“Treasure of the Tang Dynasty: A Glimpse at Art and Culture” would be hosted at the Multifunction Hall of CCCN Macau, and exhibition period would be from 5th March to 8th May, 2022. There would be two guided tours for the public in Cantonese on Saturdays, of which the time would be 2:30pm and 3:30pm. Duration of the tour would be around one hour. Public guided services would be performed by higher form students from Saint Paul School and Colégio Diocesano de São José 6. In addition, application for scheduled guided tour would be open to organizations, schools and individuals. Time for scheduled guided tour would be on Tuesday to Friday (2:30pm to 6:00pm).
In 2020, Bishop Stephen Lee Bun Sang of the Macao Catholic Diocese decided to assign the building to the Macau Diocesan of Performance Arts and Culture Association as venue, and renamed as “Centro De Cultura e Artes Performativas Cardeal Newman De Macau”. Through organizing diverse cultural activites, this promotes interactions and exchanges between the community. Furthermore, this helps to establish a place to grow closer to people with mutual trust.
